Wesak Poya
With the Wesak Poya Festival (or Vesakh or Vesak) the highest Buddhist festival is celebrated in Buddhism. The Wesak festival honors the birth, enlightenment and death, and thus the subsequent entry into nothingness (Nirvana) of the enlightened Buddha, Siddhartha Gautama.
Poson Poya

The Poson Poya Festival is one of the most important festivals for Sri Lankan Buddhists, because it recalles how Buddhism came to Sri Lanka.
Arath Mahinda, the son of the Indian emperor Ashoka, founded Buddhism in Sri Lanka.
