General Information

 

This Society was founded in March 2013. Ideal premises for our union are still to be found. The membership fees and donations to this society will go a long way in helping us in this regard (for more information click here ).Till then we will conduct our ceremonies and festivals in rented rooms and halls. 
 
After acquisition of appropriate premises for our society, it will be set up according to Buddhist culture and made into the temple of our union. A Sri Lankan monk will reside there and will conduct Buddhist rituals and ceremonies like weddings, birthdays and funerals in addition to public festivals and events.
Traditionally the Theravada monk will receive donations for his work and services. These donations do not necessarily have to be in the form of money. Donations such as towels or clothes or other such items that the monk needs in everyday life will be gracefully accepted. This is because a monk does not earn money and therefore cannot purchase everyday items like toothpaste, socks, etc.
In our society you have the opportunity to join the monk in his meditations and to learn the proper meditation techniques.

 

Membership

 

Anyone interested can become a member of the Association. No admission fees will be charged but instead a monthly fee of 10€ that has to be paid during the course of the month.
